The Acropolis

ONE WORD: Wowzers.

I'll write here a few passages from the little journal I brought
with me to write down my immediate reactions to what I was seeing.

"I'm here at the Acropolis and I am in utter amazement and awe...
everything - the sculptures, the land, the buildings - are older
than anything and they've lasted! It's so beautiful..."

"We are looking at the skeletal remains of a young girl frm 1000
BC... you can see her teeth"

"I'm looking down on the city of Athens and all it's sprawling
splendor. I'm at the top of the Acropolis and it has been truly
amazing being here with Monique, and Matthew, and Rich. Our 2rd
REAL day here in Athens. It's unreal how HUGE this city is!! And
no skyscrapers either... just extraordinary history. It's scorching
HOT."

Btw, we've met two dudes: Matthew from P.E.I and Rich from South
Africa. Awesome fellows. They share our bunkhouse.

So, I can't really tell you about what I experienced today because
it was beyond words. I have some sweet pictures and I bought a
bunch of postcards and I'll try and include a little something I
remembered from today on them. So, to all of you who gave me your
addresses, expect to recieve your first postcard soon! haha I'll
be uploading our pictures when we leave Greece.

We went to a beach yesturday and swam in the Aegean Sea!! It was
incredible! Merveilleux! Got a sweet tan! haha

Ok, so I have to reserch hostels on islands and plot out which ones
we'll be visiting before we move north towards Turkey. I'll write
again soon. For now, I am having a great time and I'm so happy to
be here. Take care!

Over and Out.
